Who we are
Friendly Deer is a trading name of Maeve McCabe, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. We are the “data controller” for the personal data described here. You can reach us any time at hello@friendlydeer.com.

- When you contact us: your name, email address, organisation (if you give it), the type of project, and the message you send.
- Technical data: basic server logs such as IP address and browser type, kept by our hosting to keep the site secure and reliable.
- Analytics:we use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that don’t track you across other sites or store data that identifies you.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and talk through working together, on the basis of our legitimate interest and to take steps at your request before any contract.
- To keep the site secure and working, on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a safe, reliable website.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your data or share it for marketing. We use a small number of trusted providers to run the site, each processing data only on our instructions and keeping it within the UK or EEA:
- Vercel— website hosting.
- Neon— our database (Frankfurt, EU).
- Resend— delivering the email notification when you send a message (Ireland, EU).
- Zoho Mail— our email inbox (EU).
Cookies
The site uses only the essential cookies it needs to work. Our analytics are cookieless, and we don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry messages for as long as we need them to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards, then delete them. Technical logs are kept only short-term.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- see the personal data we hold about you;
- correct anything that’s wrong;
- delete it, or restrict how we use it;
- object to us using it, or ask for a copy to reuse elsewhere.
